چکیده
The area studied covers unmined Pennsylvanian Ćwiklice and Dankowice coal deposits located in the southern part of Upper Silesian Coal Basin, Poland. geological structure clearly affects current distribution methane. content methane is lower seams lying within porous permeable sandstones (Łaziska sandstones), whereas it higher that occur sequences (Mudstone Series) where impermeable shales mudstones occur. Due to previous attempts extract from boreholes, this area, characterized by a dense network exploratory prospecting drillings, worth analyzing with regard conditions occurrence terms extraction possibilities. Using contour maps, cross-sections profiles, variability resources, as well moisture ash seams, were analyzed. Methane isolines are parallel boundary between Cracow Sandstone Series Mudstone main faults. contents reduce contents. A high >8 m3/t coaldaf typical for which do not exceed 5%. High- medium-volatile bituminous low saturation, though saturation increases depth. permeability variable (from 0.2 more than 100 mD), but, below depth 1200 m, clear trend decreasing evident. From point view coalbed (CBM) recovery, relatively permeabilities levels could make CBM output problematic area. production will be probable result demethanation 1 deposit, mining planned. This emission into atmosphere ventilation shafts drainage stations. Therefore, effective use gas captured station highly desirable environmental economic reasons.

Geology and Potential Coal and Coalbed Methane Resource of the Tuya River Coal Basin
This article forms pan of an ongoing study of the coal and coalbed methane resource potential of northwestern British Columbia. Other areas under study include the Bower basin coalfield, Telkwa coalfield and Tertiary coalfields of the Bulkley Valley. Tertiary sediments survive in many major watersheds in British Columbia. The sediments are generally not well consolidated, poorly exposed and the...

The objective of the study was the analysis of trace elements contents in coals of the Upper Silesian Coal Basin (USCB), which may pose a potential threat to the environment when emitted from coal processing systems. Productive carbon overburden in central and southern zones of the USCB is composed mostly of insulating tertiary formations of a thickness from a few m to 1,100 m, and is represent...
متن کاملOverview of the Coalbed Methane Potential of Tertiary Coal Basins in the Interior of British Columbia
The interior of British Columbia contains a number of fault bounded Tertiary basins that contain coal (Figure 1). This paper brings together existing data that aids in assessing the coalbed methane (CBM) potential of the basins and presents new data on some of the basins. The CBM potential of the basins ranges from up to 1 tcf at Hat Creek to a few bcf at Coal River. In all cases the resources ...
متن کاملImpact of Mine Waters on River Water Quality in the Upper Silesian Coal Basin
The Upper Silesian Coal Basin (USCB) is located within the Vistnla and Oder basins in the southern part of Poland. The coal seams in the USCB are exploited by the underground mining of average depth of 650 m, up to 1200 m. Studies on hydrogeochemical environment showed a normal vertical and horizontal hydrogeochemical zonation in the whole of USCB. As a general trend the level of groundwater mi...
